CLASSIC PERIOD A.D. 300-900 pper Central America felt the influence of the great Mesoamerican city-state, Teotihuacan, during the Classic era. There is evidence of foreign military presence, widespread cultural breakdown of the old ruling and priestly elites, and a re-ordering of ceremonial centers.
